Are there any known side affects to Minfulness based cognitive therapy in the treatment of depression? - mindfulness based cognitive therapy
I was part of a group cognitive therapy treatment (on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn basis), we are nearing the end of the meetings, but I found that anxiety has increased, leading raids, unwanted memories of panic and deepen the bad mood. I think the practice of formal meditation extremely painful (as was the case for about 6 weeks) I just wanted to know if it will get better, or if I right / ready for treatment?
The group is led by professional mental health, I can go in the wrong direction, but it had to be well monitored.
It is now suggested I go to DBT, it reflects a failure for my part, to implement the concept fully aware of?
Everyone in the group reports, or relax in peace, especially when engaged in formal meditation.
I know it is a relatively new concept, it is difficult to obtain a definitive answer. All ideas very welcome.
